He is a recipient of the prestigious Commonwealth Academic Staff Scholarship (British Council, UK) and the Rockefeller Biotechnology Fellowship (Rockefeller Foundation, USA).
His scholarly output includes over 110 peer-reviewed research papers, 8 authored books, 12 funded research projects from major Indian agencies (DST, DBT, UGC, CSIR), and a granted, commercialised Indian patent (#434650) on a synthetic peptide antigen for detecting salmonellosis. His expertise directly intersects with gut health research — from pathogen detection and microbiome research to probiotic and nutraceutical innovation.

B. N. Behera is a highly accomplished nutrition professional who served as a Senior Dietician in the Department of Dietetics, PGIMER, Chandigarh, with more than 25 years in Clinical Therapeutic Dietetics and Applied Nutrition. He holds an MSc in Dietetics with a Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition, and is a Certified Diabetic Educator and Registered Dietician — with specialised expertise in Diabetes, Thyroid disorders, gut health, Cancer, Liver and Kidney diseases, and Maternal and Paediatric Nutrition.
His research excellence earned him the prestigious Prof A. N. Radha award and an International Best Paper award, alongside a co-authored publication in Nature Scientific Reports. He now lends his clinical insights to GutWell Nutrition, contributing decades of therapeutic experience to the development of products designed to support and enhance gut health.
